On June 12th, the Scandinavian Chamber of Commerce in Estonia, in collaboration with Enterprise Estonia, hosted the Defence & Trade Focus seminar at Hotel Olympia in Tallinn. The event brought together participants from across sectors to explore the evolving relationship between Estonia and Sweden — with a focus on defence developments and cross-border business opportunities.
The event opened with welcome remarks from Tom Holgersson (Enterprise Estonia) and Cecilia Linden (Scandinavian Chamber of Commerce).
The keynote presentation by Stefan Behre from Milrem Robotics offered a timely and thought-provoking look at how the war in Ukraine is shaping the Swedish defence market.
This was followed by company case presentations:
- Heiki Nagel (Helmes) shared practical insights from expanding into the Swedish market.
- Tom Holgersson (Enterprise Estonia) outlined key considerations for Estonian companies engaging with Swedish clients.
Unfortunately, Ivo Pukk from InstaGlobe Engineering was unable to attend due to health reasons. We’re happy to hear that he is doing better and look forward to welcoming him at a future event.
The seminar concluded with a panel discussion featuring Helmes, Enterprise Estonia, and NordicLeads (David Linden), who shared reflections and real-life perspectives on trust-building, navigating cultural differences, and entering new markets.
This was a successful and well-received event, and we extend our sincere thanks to all participants, speakers, and panelists who contributed to the discussion. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Enterprise Estonia and developing future initiatives to support cross-border business between Estonia and Scandinavia.
